Linksys WRT150N Router: Linksys WRT150N Wireless Adapter: Linksys WMP300N Problem: Wireless network is not being established. It does not appear on the list of wireless networks in either the Linksys or the Windows manager. Wired LAN working fine. Antennas are firm in place. Tried with and without security. Wireless light on router in on. Doesn't work with my sister's D-Link DWL-G122 Accessed the router through router IP address, looked under wireless settings, and it's enabled and everything looks normal. Currently running on my uncle's D-Link 614+ router and everything works A1. Highly doubt that anything is interfering with the signal... Any ideas?

Re: Linksys WRT150N

Hi there,

I only have 3 suggestions.

1st one is to make sure the ssid is not similar to other routers you are using on your profile. ie.(change it to a unique name)

2nd is to make sure you check the box that says broadcast your ssid.

3rd check to make sure you select the router as an access point and not adhoc or infrastructure option. Finally you can try to change the channels eg. i like channel 3 b/c it doesnt interfere with any phone lines.

good luck

My wrt150n router cannot see the internet which is working. when I start setup in easylink advisor it establishes a new connection but I cannot see or manage it in advisor. Any ideas

Well ! this easy link advisor is not a good software to manage the network. It has some bugs. Some times even if you are able to go on line , it will show you that the router is not online. If you call the Linksys technical support, you will not get any technical support for the Easy link advisor. Even the Linksys is also not using Easy link advisor. They have a new software now called as network magic.

If you are not able to go online using the router, then you can try to set up the router maually. Ou don't need any CD or Manual or any software.

I am trying to set up security on my Linksys router WRT150N?

Below are some pointers to secure your linksys router:

- Change the default password of the router. By default it is admin. Changing the default password will prevent unwanted users from accessing the setup page of your router. Click here for the steps.

- Change the default SSID or network name. This will allow you to identify your wireless network. Click here for the steps.

- Disable SSID broadcast. This will prevent other users from detecting your wireless network. Click here for the steps. Take note: You will need to manually enter the SSID on your wireless adapter to connect.

- Enabling wireless security on your router. This will require a security key before you can connect to the wireless network. Click here for the steps.

For additional security to your wireless networks, you may refer to this link.

Hope this helps! Happy Holidays!

Hard reset the router ... find the small hole on the back ... depress with a paper clip for 30 or so seconds.

Get Network Magic to help you manage your network.

Where do I find the network key for my linksyswrt150N?

This is located under the wireless settings on your linksys. This is something you would have set up when installing the router. If you don't remember or it is confusing.. Change it. I usually use the KTIP security because you can use a normal passphrase that is easy to remember. Hope this helps

I cannot connect to my new WRT150N router

Lets start with the basics. First do you have a computer with an ethernet port for a wired connection? If so connect it to the router and attempt to access the internet. If this works we have eliminated the ISP connection and need to address the wireless configuration of either the router or the adapter or both. I will need the version number of the router which probably appears on a label on the bottom of the device to get access to the proper users guide. I do not have one of these models specifically however on reading the specs it mentions that it works well with B and G wireless cards -- there is a possibility this device will not work with A band cards -- we will confirm this later. Please provide the model number for wireless adapter so we can research them if needed.
