Whirlpool Cabrio WTW6600SBT - noise during agitation

Whirlpool Cabrio WTW6600SBT (2 yrs old - top load) makes noise during wash cycle (clanking)... When I manually sway the drum towards the front left corner of the machine, it makes a 'creaking' sound (like a spring inside that I can't see?) I believe this is the source of the noise as no other movement to the drum creates any excess noise and I have stopped the wash mid-cycle and done this manually. Once the wash is done, I still hear water under the drum when I manually move the drum around (although no water visibly in the drum itself.) Is that normal too?
