Problem for Hitachi CP-S860 Multimedia Projector

Machine powers down and no lamp.

When the machine is turned on (power light green and the fan turns on) and the button pressed to turn the lamp on, the lamp does not turn on and after about 1 minute it powers down and both the power light and the lamp light turn red and you can hear the fan turn off and no light. We replaced the bulb and it makes no difference.
