I replaced the fan speed unit because knob stub was broken. It was part 14-39-059-01 on the Thermador ECV36 (downdraft unit installed 1987). After hooking up, it worked for a moment, but never used for any prolonged time. Next time it was turned on, there was no fan. Fan unit would come up and go down, but fan would not come on. I found the little reset under the electric box, but it did not seem to reset (very little movement, if any). I re-installed the old reostat unit (which was set on full speed fan) but the fan would still not work. Could it be the reset switch? Could I test the reset by connecting the two reset wire leads with a 15 amp fuse?
