White screen and no music HELP

I have a 4th generation pink 8gb ipod nano the screen is white with a vertical purple/blueish line down the side of the screen it beeps a couple times then nothing, i can hear music sometimes but not often i tried pressing the MENU and CENTER buttons but the apple logo never appears PLEASE SOMEONE HELP!!!!!!!

if your getting a line hrough the screen.. its possible you have wet it.. try to reset it and see what happens if that doesn't help.. give me a yell
