PPI2360 Car Amp. blowing fuses...

I've had this puppy for about 6 years, It's worked great, until about a week ago.. The 25 amp fuses were popped on the side... So I replaced them and they popped again....I have not changed or worked on anything in the car for about 6 months....and i have a 80 amp fuse up front....Im thinking that might have something to do with it but not sure.

Please help! Thanks

The bridge rectifier is most likley shorted in the amp.you could repair yourself if you can solder but amps are cheap today and you might just look into replacing it.please rate my solution.

Possible that the output tubes that were replaced are drawing too much current, hence the popping sound (may be "motorboating", one common word to describe a similar sound)

This means the tubes need to be biased properly. You need to get it to someone who knows what they are doing, ie a good amp tech, not GC. The voltages here are dangerous.

I need to know the size of external fuses for a american legacy amp 2000 watt 2 channel 1990

25 to 30 amp fuses will work great, anything lower could possibly blow a fuse when a good bass note hits even if there is nothing wrong with the amp. Hope this helps.

Fuses blowing

It may not be your amp at all, disconnect the power wire from the amp and then try a new fuse. If it still blows you have the power wire grounding out somewhere, if it doesn't then it would have to be the amp.

LG Dyer blows 30amp fuse frequently

Hello davidkado,
There is a high probability that when you replaced your fuse box to circuit breakers that the wiring at the fuse box was retightened. If your dryer had been operating Ok for the better part of a year and then you started to blow fuses on a regular basis.. chances are the wiring coming from the fuse box tap was becoming loose from thermal expansion and contraction and that by changing to a breaker system.. your wiring was cut and reterminated to fit the breaker tap. I suspect you won't be having any additional problems...

Blown main 40 amp fuse, loss of power, gauges & power windows

Sounds like there's a ground-out/short on that lead. Best bet is to trace the wire to see if there's a bare spot where it is touching another wire bald spot, or the car body. Also, is there any liquid getting to the fuse and container? If so, that might lead to the fuse blowing as well.

Fuel Pump ????

Not likely a fuse those you can check
If a fuse blows you don't replace it only
to blow again, you find out why

Relays should last for 25 years & you can
switch them with other to check that

The fuel pump siezes mechanically or electrically
& that can go on for 6 months so check fuel pressure
at the motor with a gauge

Also there are at least 3 other tests that have to be done at
a repair shop with the correct tools

Fuses

If you connect the fuses in parallel yes. You can use 12v circuit breakers as long as they are the same fast/medium/slow blow speed as the fuses the manufacturer recommends.

Thing is that most standard fuses are not made to exact standards and one of the two might blow earlier than the other which then in turn wil blow. I would go for either a 40 amp single fuse made for something other than a car situation and place that in the power line or get a 12v circuit breaker
