Purchased a used 2006 GMC Sierra K1500 HD pick-up which had a Directed Electronics, Automate, AM6, remote starter and keyless entry system installed. Within a month, I got a ''check engine'' alert. My GM dealer diagnosed the alert as ''temporary loss of power to the transmission'' and indicated that the remote starter may be the problem. It just happened again and my dealer wants to remove the system to correct the problem. I like the system and feel that there may be a wiring problem. Is there anything out there indicating that there has been an identified problem with the Automate AM6 and GM products?
