Help with adding numbers

My grandkids have been playing with the buttons and now I can't add numbers. Every time I enter a number and hit another number it just goes across the screen instead of adding them. Also I can't get the blinking tax% off the screen. I don't use the print paper and I can't seem to get it to work not using it. Where do I need to put my settings. Is there anyway to look at maunals online?

Sounds as though you have it set to the rate set position it just needs to be in the on position if not printing.

I purchased a Uniden model D1688 and I don't know how to put favorites into the phonebook.

Entries can be added from the base or the handset. The CID button is on the right of the control ring; the phonebook is on the left of that ring.

If you want to add a number from the Caller ID list to the phone book, press CID and use the up/down arrows to navigate to the call that you want to add. Then press Menu/Select. Select the line Store into Pb and press Menu/Select. You will be at the Edit Name Screen for the phonebook.

To enter a new item from scratch, press the Phonebook button. Then press Menu/Select and select the Create New submenu. Press Menu/Select and enter the name of the contact using the alphabet on the key pad. (For C, press 2 three times.) Press Menu/Select and enter the phone number as it is dialed (including a 1 if needed). If you need to add a pause in the number, press Redial/Pause. However, the entire number must be less than 20 digits (including the pause). Press Menu/Select again. If you enter the number from the handset, you will be prompted to select a ringtone to always use when you get a call from that number. Press Menu/Select again. Then press End (on the handset) or Play/Stop (on the base) to exit the menu system.

Uniden has the manuals available at their site, either from the product page or the support page. All DECT phone manuals are here: http://www.uniden.com/bin/venda?ex=co_disp-view&bsref=uniden&scat=dectphones_mnl . The manuals are listed in numerical and alphabetical order. The direct link to the D1688 manual in English is http://www.uniden.com/content/ebiz/uniden/resources/ownersmanuals/D1688-2om.pdf .

I hope this helps.

I made a powerpoint presentation with PP2003, first added 6 slides, then added another 20. When I add music to the presentation, the music stops at the 6th slide. HELP!

To make a sound continue through multiple or all slides, follow these steps:
  • Go to the slide where you want to begin your audio track (defaulted as the first slide), and select Insert -> Movies and Sounds -> Sound from File to insert the sound.
  • After you click OK, you can see a message pop up asking how you want the sound to start in slide shows. Click Automatically.
  • Select Slide Show ->Custom Animation to enter the Custom Animation pane. Your soundtrack is listed below in the pane.
  • In the drop-down list of the sound, choose Effect Options. Then the Play Sound interface appears. In the Effect tab, click the radio button beside Stop Playing After XXX slides (which indicates how many slides you want this song to play across) to enter the number of slides you intend to add. For example, you can enter a number from 1 to 999 for this field. Then the sound will play throughout the specified slides.

  • custom-sound-2002.gif

    play-sound-2003.gif
  • Next, check the settings in the Timing tab. To play automatically, you can set to Start After Previous with a 0-second delay. Click OK to exit the dialog box.
  • Then go to Sound Settings tab, adjust the sound volume as you like. You can also tick to hide sound icon during slideshow if you don't want it appear.
Now you can play the soundtrack from the very beginning to the end of your slideshow.

How do I get this calculator to substract

Big calculators work a little different than handheld calculators. Like the above commentor explained, if you have a basic "whats 100 minus 20?" You have to entered as 100 + 20 -- And when you hit the minus button at the end, it will give you the total. 100 is the positive number, and the 20 is the negative number that your subtracting. Also you can hit 20 -- 100 + and get the same total because you entering 20 as the negative and 100 as the positive, just in reverse.

Dialing with a code

Hello,

On most phone systems you can put a comma or wo after the phone number and before your dialing code. You may have to try dialing with 1 comma and then try adding more until you get the right number. Some fax machines have a button labeled "pause" that enters the delay for you. Just enter your number hit pause and then your code, then hit the send button.

I hope this helps

Tring to subtract

With an adding machine, which is what this is, you enter the number followed by the + or -. If you wanted to add 10+20, you would enter 10 then + then 20 then +. This would show your answer. If you are using the printer and you wish to see the final answer on the paper, hit the * key and your answer will print.

If you are subtracting, let's say 100-40, you would enter 100 then + then 40 then - then *. Adding machines expect you to enter long strings of numbers to total. You may have both positive and negative numbers. So, you always enter the number first followed by either positive + or negative -.

You might have 100 + 25 - 37 - 1 + 50. For that enter:
100+25+37-1-50+ then *

Different than a calculator but the same for all "adding machines". This machine should really be called an adding machine since that is the kind of input it is looking for.

Viewing lyrics If you've entered song lyrics, you can view them at any time in iTunes 5. Just select the song, Get Info for the song, and then click Lyrics. If you want to view them on iPod nano, do this: On iPod nano, start playing any song to which you've added lyrics. Press the Center button repeatedly. The number of times depends on if you have artwork or not. Here's the order of things when you press the Center button: Play status > Scrubber > Album Art > Lyrics/Description > Rating If you don't have Album Art or Lyrics, then you'll just see the Rating Play status > Scrubber > Rating Lyrics should display correctly in most languages. If they do not, try removing any special characters in the Lyrics pane in iTunes, copy the song back to iPod nano, and try again. Note: Some types of files such as WAV and QuickTime files don't support lyrics, though you can convert WAV and QuickTime files into a format that would allow you to add lyrics such as AAC or MP3. "
