Question about Whirlpool GS6SHEXNL Side by Side Refrigerator
I HAVE A WHIRLPOOL GS6SHEXNL00 SIDE BY SIDE. THE LIGHT AND TEMP DISPLAY IS NOT WORKING ON THE REFRIGERATOR SIDE, BUT THE FREEZER SIDE IS WORKING. THE REFRIGERATOR IS KEEPING TEMP JUST FINE.
Funny you asked this question i just had this same problem this week at a customers home. you need the electronic control board located in the compressor compartment behind the refrig. it is mounted in the white box on the left hand rear corner. the whirlpool part number is 2304095 and it is around 175.00 i'm not sure who a local part supplier around you would be if all else fails you could get thru sears..

Please see potential solutions at diychatroom.com. Do a search on "whirlpool fridge flickering". I had the same problem, and the solutions worked - can save you the price of a board.

I have the same problem. I am totally ticked at Whirlpool and will never buy another unit.
Here is my review: This unit is unreliable and unfortunately Whirlpool will not take responsibility beyond the warranty. I've had 3 major repairs within a year and half out of warranty. A plastic gear had sheared in the icemaker. It cost me $248.44 to fix. Later another plastic part broke in the dispenser, this one in the door. You know that little flap? I was told the entire door would have to be replaced, a $600 part. On top that, the thermostat console which controls the interior light and led reading went out. The problem above....I personally will be avoiding all Whirlpool products like the plague. I feel ripped off.
Anytime I put 40w appl. bulbs in, they "fizz" like a bad neon sign at a motel in a slasher flick & the temp display goes out. ? gives?,(as in-GIVES OUT!)
Same exact problem, one moment my wife opened the door and everything was fine...then the with the next open...NO light, NO LED display. And of course no real information on the net or ability to solve the problem....LIKE A FUSE! First the ice maker went out on this model...at a cost of $550.00 to repair. Something I could have fixed...IF A REPAIR MANUAL WAS AVAILABLE. This is the last time I will purchase a US company base product.
