RCA HDTV 52

When switch on the light on the TV blinks 3 times but will not come on. I use the remote and it does the same thing. This started about 6 months ago. It use to take a while to come on but now it will not. It is 2 years old but is not under warrany. Can you tell me what is wrong and will it cost as much to fix as it costed? Please advise.

Same problem as A LOT of others!! Has RCA recalled this? I push the on button on either remote or on the TV and it flashes the green light 3 times but never turns on. What is this and what can I do.

When I turn on the TV the pilot lights turn on of off three times.

RCA 52" DLP, purchased in "06", pictured bulb started to loose brightness. Best Buy said some lose was normal. Shortly after warranty expired, picture bulb went out, since then I have replaced it twice. It is out again, (less than six months)

GuruRight now i have 3 all different, one comes on plays 1 hour maybe shuts off ,others have convergence problems i am now looking for all information on this mostly because am finding out alot of these sets are shuting down,as soon as i find out more i will post what is wrong and what should be done for repair!

1. Use 1 gallon of gasoline applied liberally to the top of the TV.
2. Light match.
3. Toss match on top of TV.
4. Watch your problem melt away ;->

Well, I just got mine back from the shop :-(
The transformer, located in the lower left corner, (facing the back of the set), was fried. Then I ended up needing to replace the board as well:-( $350.00 l8r it's working fine and has a 1 yr. warranty on the fix :-)
You could try just replacing the transformer. You might be lucky and not have fried the board yet.

This is funny (not) I have had my TV for 2 years as well and I have the same issue. I think RCA should recall this TV and repair all the TV's that have this problem. I also think we should all get together and demand that RCA do something about this issue since it appears to be a manufacture defect or we should file a class action suit to make them pay us for our losses.

My 52in just wnt out. I think it is the transformer. It turned off and made a popping sound. It is 2years and 6mo old. I was suprised when I called RCA and they said they will fix the tv. A service guy will be out on tuesday. I told them that it was putting oyt sparks. They seamed extremly coucerned that it almost caught on fire. My be that have relized that they have a major problem with the sets. Modle is HD52W67

i have had my rca 52' for about two years same model and i was hook ing cable up on the back and somethimg turned off and now it tries to three or four times then stops and wont do nothing

PAY ALL OF THAT MONEY FOR A TV THAT WON'T COME ON AT ALL NOW!!!! RCA SHOULD RECALL AND GIVE US ALL A BETTER ONE.

we have a RCA HDTV 52 inch tv We try to turn it on the light blinks three times and the tv shuts off. We have tried to use the remote but got the same results. does anyone know why these tvs have not been recalled? What can I do to fix this problem? No one wants to work on these tvs why?

My set will turn on sometimes for a few minutes, then it will shut off and the power button will blink. Most of the time it just starts blinking right away. The only thing you can do is unplug it for awhile and try again. Which is almost worthless. RCA says it is due to high line voltage. Funny it took 2 yrs. And, I have it plugged into a voltage regulator. Sounds like a built in obsolescence time frame of 2 yrs to me ;-> My 1st & last RCA TV.
