Hi i need to restore my Toshiba A100 - TA2 Model # PSAA8C - TA202C i had a virus on it and it crashed my computer before i could get it fixed... Please email me back on how i can fix my computer myself...

Using the Toshiba HDD Recovery Utility from the recovery partition
In the event of a hard disk drive failure, you may be able to restore the drive to the factory default state using the on-disk Toshiba HDD Recovery Utility (in the special partition on the hard disk drive).
You can elect to restore the entire hard disk drive to the factory default state, or to restore only the C: drive -- without affecting other partitions (for example, a D: drive) -- or to change the size allocated to your C: drive, and then restore it.
To recover your hard disk drive from a system failure using the utilities stored on your computer's HDD, follow the steps on this link:

Click on this link or copy and paste the complete link into your browser.

If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it and give a testimonial for my response

Thanks, Joe

My drag to disc says "no recorder"

What has changed since it worked? That is the first step. Try a system restore to that point. NOT a full restore. If that doesnt work uninstall drivers and dwnld new ones from Roxio.

Maxtor Portable Hard Drive 250GB

Hello Robbie.

Basically all you do is drag and drop. If you open up the drive (By double clicking it) then just drag the files you wish to store right into the drive and hey presto your done let them copy over which will take time depending on how many files you are sending over.

Good luck please dont hesitate to get back to me Robbie

I have a cd containing jpeg files recorded four years ago and now won't open on my new computer. Both systems are windows XP but I might not have finalised the disc when I recorded it. Is there a way of...

Yes, try drag and drop, highlight the Pictures and drag them to a file where you can recover them. for example, make a temporary file on your hard disk. eg. TEMP. If you can see the files you should be able to drag and drop, then make a new CD. Good Luck

Please don't forget to rate my service at Fixya, if I was any help.

DVD drive write problem

First try cleaning the DVD drive lense. If it does not help then
Try system restore to restore your computer to a previous date.
For that click
Start- Programs -> Accessories -> System Tools -> System Restore.
Click Restore my computer to an earlier time and click Next.
Select a date from the calender( select a date when it used to work) and click Next twice.
Windows will automatically restart when restoration is done

When windows starts again try to burn disc. If the same problem remains then the DVDRW drive may have some problem.

Restore to factory state

hi, if your hard drive is having some firmware related problem, neither you cannot restore nor new install. Your problem seems to be the same.
Check the BIOS, whether the drive configuration shows the correct size of the HDD, if not the HDD firmware needs correction. For that contact the nearest service people.
