Are you able to access this router? If it has an IP, any problem connecting to the Internet usually has to do with Security measures. Check your security settings in the router.
If you can see the router recognize it, would that be a wireless router and you can see it in the connected devices list? or just that the light is on?
Let's start at the beginning. Let's check what ip address you have now. open up a command prompt (Start->Run->cmd then Enter) type "ipconfig". Note these numbers.
1.) Go into Network Connections (Control Panel) 2.) Go into the properties for the adapter you would like to connect with. 3.) Find the TCP/IP for that adapter and click the properties button. 4.) Both "Obtain an IP address automatically" & "Optain DNS server address automatically" 5.) Close those windows and open up a command prompt (Start->Run->cmd then Enter) 6.) type "ipconfig" and note the numbers. Only bad number would start with "169.xx.xx.xx" which means no ip address was distributed. Type "ping yahoo.com" if you get 4 replies then you have a solid internet connection.

I disconnected the LCD projector from my ASUS UL30A. The screen remained black even after I used Control F8 that I had used with the projector. I had to reboot. The touchpad worked as I clicked on the Windows icon. Then the touchpad would not respond- the pointer will not move.
