Question about Dell Latitude CPX Notebook

My computer keeps scrolling downward

Help! My Dell Latitude D600 keeps scrolling down and I can't seem to stop it. Every time I use the cursor or upward arrow to raise the screen, it automatically scrolls to the bottom of the page, and it won't stay in one place. I've tried turning it off and on again, and tried fiddling with the up-down arrow keys, thinking that maybe something was stuck there. But no luck. Nothing like this has happened to me before. Any ideas?

My up and down arrow key are not working. they are acting as if they are stuck. I will hit it or press down on it and then after 2 or 3 seconds it will go down or up as if Im scrolling on it. I took off the keys and tried cleaning around it. Im not sure what to do. It was working perfectly fine a few minutes ago and now its not. Also when I try to use it and after it acts as if Im scrolling it somehow locks me out from using the deskop. I can click anything. So I have to go to start and then back into desktop. Any suggestions would be great!

I had a C600 do the same thing. It kept happening but I got some control over it by blowing around the edges of the touchpad with canned air and then cleaning the touchpad agressively with 99% isopropyl alcohol and a soft lint free cloth. If that makes a noticeable difference then we are on the right track. If the problem becomes unmanageable touchpad replacement may be in order. Let me know if this helps. If you need further solutions I will research further and post as data becomes available.

I have trouble booting up my Dell Latitude D600. When I press the power button status lights on right flicker for few seconds then shut off.

try removing the battery (keep ac power), test
if nothing, try the opposite,
remove both ac power and battery test,
for some reason holding down f10 and cursing at the machine seems to help. Mine does this but typically will boot after a few attempts (and lots of cursing)
