Your VCR is no longer capable of recording "off air" tv signals. All tv stations are now broadcasting in digital format, your VCR is analog only. You can however get a digital converter box that will receive "off air" digital signals and convert them for recording on your VCR. CLICKING HERE will give you all the information you need to hook up the converter box... Good Luck!

I am asking this for a friend who has a problem with grainy picture. He has Sanyo TV.(Analogue) Sharp VCR (about 8 yrs old) Set Top Box is a DigiCrystal brand (I think). He said it was initially on Channel 3 but now is on Channel AV 6 (he doesnt know why it has changed) Basically wants to know how to change the channels to watch the videos. Would there be instructions on Internet to tell how to do it or can someone explain to me in plain English and I can relay it to him. Initially on turning on TV it says it is on Channel 6 until it fades. I think he has changed it somehow and doesnt know what he did. Wants to know how to change Channels and why is it on Channel 6 initially. Sorry this is clear as mud I know. Does anyone know what I am trying to say. I thought I understood the problem he has but now trying to put it in words I dont think I do. He apparently has it tuned through the VCR. He has 3 Remotes (does he need to use all of those-no wonder he is confused). Could the grainy picture be anything to do with the fact he has Analogue TV or older VCR. If maybe someone gives instructions from the start to set it up it might be easier for me to understand. I will see if anyone can help with my confusing message otherwise I will need to go back to him and get further details to put it into plainer English. Any advice will be Very Much appreciated.

I had a call from an old friend who has the above recorder but she cannot find the operators hand book. Every time she tries to turn on the recorder a lock appears on the front screen. There is a lock button on the hand control I have tried pressing it to see if it will unlock but this does not help. I feel that this key needs to be pressed in co-ordination with another, I don't know.
