Problem for PC Desktops

I just put together a pc for my little gir...
I just put together a pc for my little girl. Everything seems to be hooked up right as far as I can tell. The pc is getting power, lights on, cpu fan is spinning, video card fan is spinning, but the pc fan doesnt work nor does the cdrom. I've checked and double checked all the connections but still the same. In the bios none of the drives are showing up either. Is this some sort of power issue? It is all the same parts I have used together before without any probs, but this time it's just not working.

Have a close look at the power pig tails.
Since you state both PC fan and cdrom does not work.
I would suspect no power is getting to these. It is rather difficult to plug in the ribbon cables wrong. They will only go one way. :)
As vinayT suggests, run the auto detect in the bios for the MB to read the drives. When the machine is powered on, check the lights on the drives to see if they light up briefly.
Loose connection can also cause the CDrom drive to fail.
Wiggling around in those tight spaces you can easily pull something loose without realizing. Triple check all the connections and those power plugs. Make sure they are running to the power supply and 12V! Swap power pig tails, if something else stops it means that power plug is not delivering.
