I have a Win. XP pro operating system on my computer. My camera refuses to download the pictures. I've deleted the Vivitar drivers and reinstalled, but that didn't help. I went to Vivitar's website, but they don't have any help for this camera. Thanks: RJA
Don't use the Vivitar software drivers, you shouldn't need them. With the computer on, Plug the USB cord into both the camera and the computer. THEN turn on the camera. It should go into file share mode. Then sit and wait and do nothing with either device. In as little as a few seconds, or as much as 2-5 minutes, you should get a box pop up on your computer giving you some options. Choose to "Open Folder to View Files" This should open up a regular old windows folder, which will probably have a folder or two inside it. Look in the folders, and in one of them, you should find your pictures. You can highlight, cut and paste them onto your desktop. Or copy and paste if you want to leave them on the camera memory card too. Good luck!

While taking indoor photos of people in the 8 to 12 foot normal range,in the auto flash mode, the auto flash will put out full power, washing out people's faces. It's like the camera won't control the amount of flash. Is there software or support for this camera that would correct the internal settings? did you get help with this? i have the same problem x
