Need to convert from Propane to Natural Gas: Dacor Cooktop Model SGM365S/LP. Is there an easy way to get the valve apart to install the orifice and needle valve? I've received the converstion kit, but there are no instuctions.
On the regulator there is a 1/2" nut, made of aluminum. loosen the nut, thur it around and screw it back in, there is a "NAT" on one side, and a "LP" on the other side, make sure the "LP" is facing out if you are using propane, and "NAT", if you are using Natural Gas. Very simple, all you need is a 1/2" wrench, or a small adjustable wrench,
My stove is a 1996 stove that I am trying to convert to propane. Would I use this same technique. When you talk about the regulator do you mean the knob that you turn to adjust the flame? Or do you mean something that is under the burner?
After reading WMSweeney posting I went to my stove and took off the front panel where the knobs are. Sure eough there was a box in the middle with a nut, I unscrewed the nut an one end said "Nat" and the other end said "LP". Since I wanted my stove hooked up for Liquid Propane (LP) I screwed the nut back in with LP facing out toward me. It worked! Big Big Big thank you to WMSweeney for this great tip. I almost gave up on the stove because I wasn't able to find any replacement parts to perform this switch over. Dacor was no help at all. I do not understand why they wouldn't share this simple procedure. I am just so fortunate that I didn't give up and kept searching on the internet to try an find some answers. Luckly I ran into this site and found the posting from WMSweeney, Big, Big, Big thank You!!!!!
Is this the same for the ESG366SCH? I'm trying to convert this range top to LP.

I am trying to convert a Dacor range as well - can you tell me where you got the conversion kit> I am having trouble locating one.
I found mine at local appliance parts store. Try web site www.APDepot.com and enter Dacor and cooktop model. The cat. number for natural gas kit is 86666 for the SGM365 model. Came with no imstructions, cost range-$62 It includes a needle valve and orfice plug for each burner (5 of each) There are also parts diagrams on this web site. You can see the needle valve and orfice at the valve after removing the knob and looking through the opening. Note--- they are not all made alike. It appears the stove has to come apart from the top. Check the diagrams, The regulator valve spring also has to be turned around. I'm still looking at mine. GOOD LUCK.
I'm also having the same issue, but with a 36" epicure dual fuel. range was converted from the original ng to lp status by an authorized service dealer which he then bartered out for payment of services. when we tracked back to him for help, he completely disowned any responsibility for helping us out - presumably since he'd get in a s**tload of trouble from corp dacor.
dacor won't sell us the part either since it's an older range, even though we will have an auth dealer work on it....?? whtf??
anyway, i need to know where we can get the conversion kit and any help is GREATLY appreciated! thanks!

make sure you turn off the gas supply before doing ANY work!
wow, this is an old post, I hope you have figured it out by now, the people at Dacor won't tell you.
Read posting from WMSweeney and Robbie Buchanan....quick easy fix!
