Re: Cannot Connect With Router
In order to use that router with a wireless setup, you have to set it to Bridge mode. It will actually act as a repeater for your incoming wireless connection. To set it up in bridge mode, check out your manual on your CD, or visit the Linksys website and download the manual for your unit.

first of check for the ip address of D-Link wireless. Then try to open it in the internet explorer. give the username and password. then go to wireless option and select the security protocol wap or wep. Provide a network password. Set the DHCP range and save & exit and restart the wireless. Then try to ping from ur pc
HI! I bliv u are having some issue setting up ur router.. I will be more than glad to assist u. . here are the steps u need to do: 1. press the reset button on the back of the router for 20sec..while pressing the reset button, unplug the power plug and after 2secs while pressing the reset button plug it back in and press for 30secs after that unplug the router for 15secs then plug it back in..once all the lights are solid and ok 2. connect the ethernet cable to port1 of the router and the other end to the lan port of your computer.. 3. pull up ur browser then type at the url:192.168.1.1.or 192.168.0.1 or u can check the routers default gateway by right clicking the network icon on the lower right of your task bar and click on status and it will show the ip address of the computer, subnetmask and default gateway, the default gateway is the routers ip address, once u type in to the url, it will ask u the username and password, by default the username is admin and the password is 1234 or just leave it blank 4. it will show the setup page of the router. u can set the router on the specific internet setup that u have. a. Since your ISP is Smartbro, first connect your laptop or computer directly to the smartbro modem, check if you have internet connection, if you have, click on start, then run adn type in cmd, it will pop up the dos prompt, type ipconfig/all. It will list the ip address, subnetmask, default gateway, dns server. write it down on a piece of paper. b. access the setup page of the router and on the internet settings, manually set it to static ip address. enter the ip address, subnetmask, default gatewat, dns server. c. then the smartbor modem should be connected to the WAN port of the router and your computer should be connected to the port 1 or port 2 of the router. d. if you want to connect on a wireless connection, on your router you need to setup the wireless connection setting. if you have any query pls feel free to get in touch.. good luck
from your smartbro cable to your d link socket. just look for a different looking socket for the cable and that should be it. it should be on the right most if you are lookig on it at the back. not the other 4 which are aligned to each other. once you got it right, eset your wireless router and it should be working.
You need to clone the MAC Address of the PC that can go online directly to the Smartbro connection. Make sure the connection is correct. Your PC should be connected to port 1 on the router and the ethernet from smartbro to WAN or Internet port.
Hi pag Smartbro ang gamit mo hindi mo pwede gamiting ang setup wizard. Iba kasi ang paraan ng connection sa SMartBro. Mahirap explain it would be best if you call Linksys Philippine support since there are so many ways to connect Smartbro to a Linksys router. The number is 1-800-1-114-1695 toll free. or kung gusto mo sa Yahoo ID ko nalang mastersaintx message mo ko sa umaga.
It's not a problem connecting to internet if your isp is smartbro, esp. if you are using a D-Link router..just plug in ur smartbro rj45 to the WAN port and connect ur pc to one of the 4 LAN port of the router that's all you can connect to internet..first time of course u have to input the username and password from smartbro in order to connect again..
Smartbro account is used directly to the computers LAN port, not on the router, One computer should be made as the server, where the smartbro connection is placed... to share the internet connection... you should have another LAN card to share Internet throught the router... "See New Network Connection" you'll see examples of proper connection.
Smartbro has their own wireless security which called mac address filtering. This issue was already experienced by their olders subscriber's. Since, Smartbro connectivity is only good for personal used, they used to block any unrecognized mac address encountered with their network because of network abused such as sharing of internet connection and used for business internet cafe.
If your router has mac address cloning features that's possible you can used the internet using your router.
