My spackmaker 1800 is groaning. It is about 3 years old. what can I do?

Just assuming you mean when the unit is running, If that is the case, it may be as simple as a small motor for the plate that spins.
Remove the plate and try the unit and see if that solves the problem, If it does the motors are fairly easy to replace.
