Move the dial to the "off" position first; wait for beep; then move to the drying setting you want, and wait for another beep.

You need to press the "half load" button in to run the dryer. You may also need to press the "cold" water button in. If this doesn't solve, let me know.

Water leakage at the faucet connection. is it a new D280 that i need? this one is only 2 years old but i can't think of any other reason. now that joel is gone, who do i call in nyc? thanks, j

These European machines have "English" (Whitworth) threads on the hose connectors. They look like American standard (NPT/NPS) threads used on everything here in the States, but are slightly different. Consequently, your hook-up hoses are special, having American NPS threads at the faucet end, and Whitworth threads at the Washer end.
Buy them from Malber. You can find Malber Distribution Corp online, or call them at 516-323-5299. Tell them Mike, in DC, says hi.

8 year old Malber non-vented washer/dryer

It depends on the machine and if it's in good shape a new set is going to cost you $1200.00 a pump about $100.00 plus labor Its really up to you if you can afford a new unit or not. You may want to ask the repairman if he thinks the machine is good enough to keep, If there is any hoses or belts since he has it a part it will save some labor and would be some preventive maintenance may lube rollers or anything else he might see. But the guy working on it would be able to see if there s any metal wear or wear on rollers and could give you a better answer than we could.see may see something that may be make it not worth it. hope this helps and thanks for using fix-ya.

Dryer stopped working after working w/door open or closed

Sounds as if the door switch/latch had stuck.the smell was probably a small short. try unplugging unit. But I would imagine you need door latch/switch replaced

My 7 year old Malber WD 1000 won't dry - Where to order heating element?

pete5runner back again: The check you should make is to disconnect the two wires to the heating element carefully (with unit unplugged). Then connect a 110 voltmeter to the two wires. The plug in the machine and start a dry cycle. If you see 110 volts on the voltmeter, then you know that power is getting to the heating element, and you have isolated the heating element as defective. If you need a heating element, I got one in NY by calling 718-767-7396. New element was $29, shipping included. I don't know if he will ship to where you are located. Good luck, and let me know what happens.

Dryer has power but won't start

have you verified that power is actually getting to the unit? the symptoms to describe a "start capacitor issue" are excessive current draw and hum noise when starting. your dryer most likely uses a different starting method: motor has 2 coils, one for start, one for run.

Machine runs, but clothing won't dry

It sounds like your heating element is shot. The elements on this machine are very sensitive and if you use too much cleaning fluid the part will wear down after a while. You will need to get the part replaced (yuck) and start to use a little less washer fluid. Please let me know about your experience with the company (danfrogel@yahoo.com)
