Question about Motorola Mobility RAZR V3
My phones displays the message Insert SIM Card even though it has the SIM Card. I accidently got it wet. The batteries still work and so does the sim card i checked it with another phone, but when i turn it on it says insert sim. Please help my parents will kill me if they find out i broke my cell phone.
You need to get a new main board.....or you can take it to a mobile store tech and have the phone fully service.
But the best solution would be to buy a need mobile....most time when a mobile gets wet......it's more of a 50/50 chance that it will work properly again.

If it turns on then the problem is not that the phone got wet. If a phone gets wet and you try to turn it on it short circuits and will no longer turn on. To prevent this do not try to turn it on while wet. Make sure its dry before you turn it on. This applies to ANY electric appliance. They can all be saved by simply waiting for it to dry before trying to turn it on. JUST TO BE CLEAR IF ANY ELECTRIC DEVICE IS WET AND YOU TRY TO TURN IT ON IT WILL SHORT CIRCUIT WAIT MULTIPLE WEEKS FOR IT TO DRY IF YOU HAVE TO AND WISH TO SAVE YOUR GADGET. Lol !!
The insert sim message seems to happen a lot to these phones including mine I've yet to find a viable solution, but a couple of suggestions were to mess with the card(sliding it up and down to align it better with the connectors or add some force to the card pressing it down a bit). Neither of these worked for me, but apparently have for some goodluck!
(I mostly wanted to correct the 50/50 chance of a phone working once wet which is simply false. Its all about not short circuiting the phone)

SOURCE: insert sim
H2o, on the phone. It may still be saved. the only thing is that you may not have the tools to open the phone. the tools needed are a T-5 and T-6 for most V3. my best idea is to try to softly scrape the Sim Card reader Prongs/contacts. but please if you have never open a v3 don't try it. just take to your local service provider or to one of those guys with a accessories stand selling the face plate replacement @ the mall. they may not charge you anything .and cross your fingers so the micro resistors inside the phone did not fried, this happens if the phone was ON when it got water in it.
Hope this helps
