Edirol Fa66 Problem

Please can you help me ?

My Fa66 interface behahes normally for some 10 minutes and after this the sound starts to digitally detireate ( like digital distortion ) and I lose the sound altogether. I have to restart again after awhile after which it does the same thing.

I use a Mackbookpro laptop 2.16 GHZ with this unit . The Mac works fine with its own internal soundcard but the Fa66 behaves in thic bizarre way.

I would really appreciate any assistance.

Thanks

I bought the FA-66 because I use Cakewalk Sonar and they sell this interface on the Cakewalk site with thier name on it. I've had nothing but problems with this unit as described above. I've tried it on two different computer and it does not work on either. I also use an RME Fireface 800 on both these machines, same set up and it works flawlessly. Drop the Edirol/Roland FA-66 and try something else like an RME card or something. That would be my suggestion. It's a shame Cakewalk promots this piece of garbage. I've tried Edirol/Roland technical support and the guy just kept saying the sound card works fine, like it was just my problem.

I'm having the same problem running FA-66 through the new mac book pro with lion. Does anyone have a solution? I really don't want to have to go buy a new sound card when I've just spent over 3 grand for a new mac.

I am experiencing a problem similar to this in Windows 7 regarding the fa-66. When I pause a video, such as in iTunes, I lose all audio until I re-enable the audio driver. If I find a solution, I'll surely post it here.

The Fa 66 is an awesome card. Never had any problems with it on a Mac or PC. Use it for both live performance (ableton) and digital vinyl, and never had a problem with it. No prolems with home recording either(inuendo, MAC). Great full duplex operation too. Even years after it was released, it is STILL an exceptional card.
Must have something to do with your pc/mac settings/buffering. I run it on a 1.4ghz celeronM, and it kicks ***. Definitely something in your settings. Try using ASIO4ALL driver..that might help you.

The output is coming out of the wrong side of the headphones (i.e., suppose to present sounds on left, comes out on right headphone)

You will need to reinstall the drivers

If that doesn't work...you will need software that allows you to invert the sound.

Please rate if this helps!

Problems with sound that is coming from computer (output monitoring)

The first thing you should do is to uninstall the EDIROL UA-101 USB2 Driver Ver.1.0.3 for Windows XP and reinstall the system. If the problem persist try to use other usb cable, if the problem still the same please let me know inorder to make another procedure to follow to identify the problem.

Hope this will be helpful.

I'm having problem connecting my Casio Keyboard with my Edirol MIDI Interface, I can't get a connection and the lights on my interface will not go on. Please any suggestions will help.

You have to have the driver for the interface installed CORRECTELY. Make sure you followed directions as sometimes you have to have device p;lugged in while installing and sometime not.

Then you will need the user software in your machine to talk to the interface as well... The interface PROBABLY must be directely connected to your machine, not through a USB hub.

How to use a condenser mic on a mac/in garageband?

Hi,

If you are sure that the microphone and the cable is OK, it could be that you're phantompower is to low.
Normally you need 48 Volt, you can check that with voltage meter between pin1-2 and 1-3 from the XLR.

Edirol not able to record on Cubase essentials

This interface works fine with other hosts but with cubase is more tricky. But you can fix it.

You need to disable the onboard sound card, also use the UA25 Asio drivers, go to programs/Steinberg cubase/ ASIO multimedia setup and you should see the UA25 outports are active and that the sync ref "YES" also that the UA25 Input ports are active. the next bit is a bit of fun select the Advanced options and select Detect buffer size, when thats finished select Check Buffers and Sync, press the start button and the test will run,if everything is ok you should have zero "Sync lost" and zero "Buffer lost"
Depending on how lower you want to get your latency , you may have to tweek the UA25 driver settings and re-run the setup above.

Mic problems: playback works great through interface, microphone isn't being detected

Check in contraol Panel under sounds and audio devices that you are using the Edirol and not an on board sound. It sounds like although the cards installed its not selected as the audio device to record from. You will also have to tel Adobce audition to select the Edirol as you audio card of choice as it to can be changed to select input from other sound devices.
