How did my linksys router's ssid change when i got a new modem

I haven't a clue? Reset the device to default settings and reconfigure. Use this procedure, if you need it, to reconfigure, update the firmware if applicable: http://support.linksys.com/en-us/support/routers/WRT54G AND this: http://www.columbia.edu/acis/networks/aptnet/linksys/

Moved router to another location would not connect.

Who is your Internet service provider at new location?

Connect the computer directly to the modem and make sure that your Internet modem is working properly.
Connect the modem and computer to the router. Open the setup page of the router and change the settings of the router.
You can try this Linksys Router Setup website and I think it will help you.

I have a linksys wireless g router that worked fine until yesterday. Now it won't connect to the internet. I have a desktop wired to the router and a laptop used wireless.

Check if you can connect to the internet when hooked directly to the modem. If your connection works fine through the modem, then your router needs to be reconfigured.

I had this wireless router for 3 years and never had a problem. I currently moved and the router only works when I plug in the computer NOT wireless. Please help.

Is the router near a monitor or speakers? Ideally, it should be at least 3 ft away from other electronic devices. Can you see the wireless network SSID? Reconfiguring a router is easy so I wouldn't spend too much time troubleshooting, you can just reset the router to default settings and reconfigure the wireless.
