Hoover savvy changeing belt

I think changing a belt should be easy but say no more . How would you change the belt on the roller. We can not get the cover off to attach the end to the motor

Re: hoover savvy changeing belt

There some screws on the bottom to take off, then turn vac upright, under the round Hoover logo sticker is another screw. It is just a sticker, so will peel off. You can work the belt onto the motor pulley, or unscrew the motor, put the belt on the pulley, then reinstall the screws to hold down the motor.

Re: hoover savvy changeing belt

I long for the days when things were made for easy repair for an average joe, Belt replacement for my Hoover is rediculously time consuming. I won't buy another!

Re: hoover savvy changeing belt

Thanks for the idea of taking the logo sticker off. I never would have throught there would be a screw under there. I still however had to loosen the plastic piece that holds the pulley and then when there was more give in the plastic I had to pry the pulley out because there was no other way to get the belt around the pulley. I haven't put it back together yet because I haven't recieved the belt that I ordered online. I have by the way had to replace the switch assembly. Which is apparently a design flaw.

Hoover savvy upright has no suction on carpet what's wrong?

9 times out of ten this is the response when you have a broken belt. The suction is the same but nothing gets picked up because there is no brush turning. Turn your machine off and see if you can turn the roller easily by hand. If you can you will need to change the vacuum belt.

How do you change the Hoover wind tunnel belts?

If you turn the vacuum over there will be (4) screws that hold on the base cover for the roller brush. Remove the screws and the cover and you can get to the belt(s). You can get replacement belts here:

Roller bars on bottom not rolling

The belt has probably broken. Hoover says that the belt on this model should last the life of the vacuum, but that is rarely the case. They do wear and break. Changing the belt is simple and the belts aren't to much. You can get a replacement here:

The V belt usually wears down first. Remove the roller and belt to visually check for wear and belt material in the roller pulley. I would change the flat belt as well. Also, replace the cord if any wires are exposed

It uses a cogged belt, turn it over, remove the bottom plate, remove the other screws from the bottom, turn vac back over and remove the Hoover emblem, there is a screw there to remove and the top comes off, then you can get to and replace the belt.
