SAPPHIRE X1560 Pro (ATI) issue with Vista

Hi - I have just put together a new system Asus M2N-E SLI Mother Board 2 gb Kingston Ram & X1650 Pro Garaphics. I then installed Vista Ultimate 64, no problem running on the generic video driver although I couldn't run Aero. Windows then updated the driver and now when I try to refresh my 'score' for aero the PC hangs and often the display goes blank. Sometimes also the system reboots and often the driver fails. I have tried updating drivers from ATI etc to no avail but have found many others on the net with the same problem .... no solutions though. Getting desparate now, many thanks - Nigel

Sli will not activate....... Vista 64 ultimate , 6 gigs of ram, 2 xfx 9400gt 1gig, amd phenom quad 2.5 , asus m2n sli deluxe

Hello raidon1449
Have you accessed BIOS(startup and start tapping F2) to see if SLI and not PCIexpress is selected?
The best thing that I can recommend with any SLI or Crossfire setup is to install the cards seperately at first to make sure they are working by themselves. Then install the cards in SLI or Crossfire configuration.

Can i run ati radeon HD3650 512mb on asus k8N motherboard

firstly you need to make sure *********** board has a PCIe slot or a AGP... this is where your ATI HD3650 will go...see the graphic 512mb has nothing to with your main system RAM which is also 512mb.. so they wont be any problems as such and both will work together without any problems... but i suggest you to add another 512mb to your system RAM.. the difference between DDR and DDR2 is that... DDR2 is a bit newer and is faster in terms of memory read/write/access... do let me know if u have any futher problems....

Can i run ati radeon x1650 512 on asus k8N motherboard

Yes you can run the AGP version of the Radeon 1650 pro on your system. It is always best & recommended to upgrade memory in pairs. You could upgrade to `gb by purchasing a 1 gb kit which would be 512 x 2. That way you have a matching pair of RAM modules. As for a cpu upgrade you can go to the Asus website and see what cpu's are supported by your motherboard. Hope this helps & please remember to rate my answer. Thanks.

You did the right thing just not in the correct order. Did you update windows? You'll need .Netframwork 2.0, do not skip lower versions of .Net framework & download & install 1 at a time with a restart inbetween even if windows does not say you need to restart. The link below will take you to ATI's latest driver updates. After you download & save to disk. You'll need to uninstall any other version that reside in Add/Remove programs.
