Question about Directv D10 DTV Receiver

Dimmer switch interference

Installed a new HD receiver and slim line dish with Zinwell multi-switch into my existing system with two standard receivers and local channels via sat. All is fine until I kick on any dimmer switch in my home that controls lights. Dimmers are two different brands and ages. Tried brand new ones to no avail. Techs have come and gone and can only say "it's your problem" like nobody else has dimmers! When I turn them on, the Hd signal deteriorates immediately, pixelates and goes out while on the non-HD resolution units I only lose the local channels coming in over the small dish sat.. I lokely need some sort of filter but don't know what I need. Any ideas???

Re: Dimmer switch interference

I have seen this before you have back feed thru your lines somewhere there i no ground and it is reffeding through your equipment. honestly he techs were wright i wouldnt or any of my guys wouldnt touch it because u realy need a certified electrician to come ou and find the problem andfix it before it runs your slimline dish and eciever. The switch u installed u did run all four 4 wires from he dish to the switch didnt you. Check all lines of coax but if u didnt run all four 4 lines then u will have problems. I still think u need an electrician.

Good luck,

Can I use a dish 500 dish with a VIP722K receiver Ilive In eastern Pa.

If you have a clear view of the south western sky, the receiver will receive most channels (after running a check switch test, menu, 6-1-1). You will not receive most HD (which comes on Eastern Arc satelllites not on that antenna, or on satellite 129, not on that antenna) and depending on your DMA you may not get locals, but most cable channels will be available, at least in Standard Definition.

Hd-Fox T2 Displays InSt how do I get to Installation Wizard

Hi geroncolm my name is Mike Houston of DISH Network. The dual HD receivers allow for TV1 to show in standard and high definition. On the TV2 it will show in SD format only, even if the TV is a HDTV. We do have System Wizard and you will need to be in front of TV1 and hold down the 0 button on the remote for 10 seconds, it will enter the system wizard. Once you enter System Wizard it will allow you to reformat the remote.

Hello, this is Nick Franta with DISH Network Customer Support.

You can still keep the 322 receiver with your new LCD tv. An HD receiver upgrade would be beneifical as well to make sure you maintain the best picture quality.

Does the dish network 322 receiver require two lines from the satellite to the receiver?

It does require 2 lines form dish unless you have a switch installed such as a dp34 or you have Dish Pro plus LNB"S on your dish and you can use 1 feed to the reciver and use a separator to separate the signal into sat 1 and sat 2 (note: a standard splitter is NOT a separator) a separator is dish brand equipment.

I have a ViP 722. It has no rf output for TV1, just the hookup for TV2. The multi RCA hookup for HD. HD is not as important to me as is a clean picture and audio on my TV. No matter how I do it, I get a...

Okay I am not positive I have this right as far as the configuration of the system but I will give it a shot. If you run the 722 to the tv using rca's you get the hum. I assume this as there are no inputs on a dish 722 receiver. I can suggest one possible solution which is to buy an rf modulator. It will convert the signal from rca to coax so you can connect as you wish. There are several types out there so ensure you get the one that converts from rca to coax. I would suggest the following configuration: Remove all connections from tv and hook 722 up via rca's to rca input 1 on the tv, check for hum. If it is present now you need a new 722 as it is passing to much power thru the connection. If there is no hum connect your cable and tivo to the tv via whatever inputs you have remaining. Lastly connect the DVD player to another input that is free. You will have to system through your inputs to view the three sources but should not have the hum. I hope this solves your issue. Thanks for using Fix Ya and let me know if I can be of further assistance.

New TV hookup

You should have no problem with this. I have provided a picture of your model below for clarification. One end of the coax will attach to the 3-4 OUT on the back of the receiver and the other end will go to the NEW tv's coax input. If your set has two coax inputs you may have to select the port that you connect to in the menu portion of the tv. If the new tv does not have a coax input you can use RCA jacks which are red/white and yellow and connect those to the TV 1 output on the back of the receiver and the other end to one of the inputs on the back of the tv- this will require you to select the input source you connect to again e.g AUDIO 1, AUDIO2 etc. If you have a VCR run the coax from the 3-4 on the back of the receiver to the antenna inon the back of the VCR -usually the top port, then run another coax from the output- bottom port to the coax input on your tv. I hope I have been of some assistance to you and Thanks for using Fix Ya. If I can assist you further please let me know.
