no audio from built in chip . external powered speaker system tested on another computer and checked out o.k. suspect chip u.s. please supply easy test/repair methods.
Depending on your operating system, you may need to enable legacy audio support in the BIOS of the motherboard. This is usually done by rebooting and pressing one of the F keys. F1 or F2 usually, then you can check for the setting. There may even be an onboard audio enable/disable option.
Also try reinstalling the sound drivers for the motherboard as a windows update may have updated your drivers incorrectly.
Otherwise check if you have another sound card attached to your motherboard as well as this will usually take over from the built in sound. If so, either remove it or plug your speaker cables into the socket on the card instead.

I have GA-6BXC motherboard, came with a Pentium II 400 mhz, I upgreded it to a P3 550 mhz,lastest Bios F3 is loaded, ugraded the memory to Kingston ,from there website. No when I turn on the computer I get no video, what the heck did I do wrong ? Trying to fix this up from my grand-kids ! Set the swicthes in SW1 & SW2 just like the book says !! But no video CAN SOME ONE PLEASE HELP BEFORE I PULL OUT WHAT LITTLE HAIR I HAVE LEFT !!
