Problem for Canon PowerShot A70 Digital Camera
Display screen shows only streaks
Display screen turns on, but is badly streaked. It almost looks like a sonogram of a baby, if that helps. Black and white, some forms visible, but nothing recognizable.
I bought it at a garage sale (I know, I know) and the display seemed fine then, but as soon as I got it home it started doing this. I replaced the batteries but that did not help.
Any thoughts?

Don't fret, you still got a bargain at that sale. This sounds like it might be a defective CCD imager. If so, Canon will fix this for you for free, including free shipping both ways. This is regardless of your camera's warranty status (including whether you bought it used or new). Please check this link for more info.
