Question about Craig Televison & Video
Switch that says if door is open or closed is malfunctioning. Whe lid is closed, it will say open. . . loading. . . open . . .loading . . play for a while, . . open . . etc.
Would like to replace switch or jump circuit. . . what do you think?
I sent a picture of the switch to a couple companies and am trying to find it.
A 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

In the lid should be a mgnetic plate that holds the disc to the motor spindle (much like slight pressure would). Inspect it to make sure it's free moving and seating all the way when the lid is closed. I had one unit where the spindle on the motor shaft had slid down slightly causing the magnetic plate to not seat down all the way. Also, if the magnetic plate is removable, try placing it on the disc with the lid open and bypassed and see what happens.
Hope that helps...

U WILL NEED TWO TOOLS TO DO THIS JOB.A PHILLIPS AND A FLAT SCREW DRIVER.YOU NEED TO OPEN THE LID AND REMOVE THE TWO SCREWS THAT ARE LOCATED ON EITHER SIDE OF THE LID SWITCH OPENING.YOU THEN NEED TO LOCATE THE TWO SCREWS THAT HOLD THE CONTROL PANEL DOWN.ON THE SOUTH AFRICAN VERSIONS OF THE WHIRLPOOL TOPLOADER THEY ARE IN THE FRONT OF THE CONTROL PANEL WERE ITS VISIBLE ENOUGH TO YOU.REMOVE THEM AND LIFT THE CONTROL PANEL UP AND BACK.YOU WILL NOTICE TO CLIPS ON EITHER END OF THE TOP REMOVE THEM WITH A FLAT SCREW DRIVER ALSO REMOVE THE WIRE LUG ON THE RIGHT SIDE.YOU WILL THEN NEED TO REMOVE THE CABINET BY OPENING THE LID AND PULLING IT TOWARDS YOU IN A SLIGHT UPWARD POSITION.NOW THE DOOR SWITCH IS LOCATED ON THE CABNIT IT SHOULD BE SMOOTH SAILING THEREAFTER.TO PUT THE MACHINE BACK ITS THE SAME WAY YOU REMOVED IT.AS FAR AS A PICTURE THERE IS NOT MUCH AVAILABLE.GOODLUCK.MOHAMED
