Well, I have also a rear projection TV HD50lpw166, having same problem as the rest of the people..Lights blinks for 5x with no picture, I have a sound at first, but then shuts off complete after 5xblink... I have 2 people tell me it might be the engine and RCA do not carry this type of engine anymore..I have been searching for it everywhere and perhaps will not cost me an arm and legm, even used ones..I am running out of idea and need suggestion, please...leo

probably the lamp went out open it from the back and check the lamp in sometimes looks good but is damaged i have a samsung and the lamp looks in perfect condition but was damaged i replace the lamp and my tv is working good.
