The conversion kit you purchased from Sears will work with any door opener and has the latest security feature but the bad news is your keypad will not work with it. If you want a keypad you must make sure it is 315 mhz and Security +. It would be Sears latest model.
Either your keypad has reverted to an earlier technology and will no longer work properly with your opener or you have the wrong keypad. Either way take the model number off the main unit and get the correct keypad.
what keypad are you using with new opener? Frequency has changed. can't use old one. you probably never needed to change things; just needed to follow proper coding procedures.
You need to sync both. I have a LiftMaster. If you want to change the code on your keypad you need to open up the garage door motor compartment where the light is (mine is in the back). Press the learn button, within 30 seconds enter the new code on your keypad and hold down the enter button for several seconds until the light on the opener blinks to tell you it has learned the code. Test the new code to see if it works. If the new keypad code works, then try the remote. My remote will not work after I reprogram the keypad. If the remote does not work (check battery) then climb back up the ladder and press the learn button on the garage door motor again, press the remote button and hold down until the light blinks again and the opener has learned the new code. This process works when I need to sync my remote and keypad. Good luck, I hope this helps.
I press the learn button on the door motor. I wait a few seconds and press a new 4 digit code into the keypad, hold down on the "enter" button for several seconds so it learns the code. Now the remote will not work. Press the learn button again, press the button on the car remote until the light on the motor blinks. Both should work after that. I have Sears LiftMaster products. Hope that helps.
