Hi, I installed extra RAM on our NEC versa E2000 notebook. Hynix 1GB DDR-333 200 pin SO-Dmm from Ramcity. Can some one please explain how to get it to recognize the new ram, have looked at the NEC site for...

Hello and Welcome to FixYa!
As you stated that your "have" installed the new RAM module. No RAM's are always plug and play modules, they need no software support, when you plug in a proper supported RAM. It is detected at the time of booting up. We need nothing to do. Just plug in the proper RAM, properly.

If your RAM is showing up the memory as previously, then there is some issue with either the module the slot or compatibility.
I hope you have a clear picture now.
Concerned, Nooh.

You will need to reset the BIOS by pulling the internal battery out and putting back in.

Check the manufacturer's website for specs on the computer.

My NEC versa s940 battery problem

Replace the battery,
They don't last forever, and do fail over time.
If it works on the A/C mains, this confirms battery needs replacing.
Or re-cell the battery.
