Ebel sportwave chrongraph

the second hand runs for a while then stops at the 12 o'clock position. the watch itself keeps running and keeping time. If I press the upper button (on the right side) the second hand starts up but I'll notice hours later that the second hand has again stopped at the 12. Any suggestions?

GuruIt;s probably a difective movement mechinism.
