Question about Sony FD Trinitron WEGA KV-27FS100 27" TV

Stays on standby mode

I followed your suggestion on trying to fix this problem myself. You suggested the following "I resoldered the following: D647
Q605 C690 D645 D620 R691 Q691", I cannot find these on my circuit board. I flipped the board over and looked on the back where all the soldering has been done and I think I am looking on the right 2" over and 2" down but still I am unable to find these numbers. What am I doing wrong?
Thank you,
Pat

Well you can get our service manual or thye eletronic schemetic for it. just google it for your model tc.. The circuit components are labeled and you there should be a name. but if you said you didnt see any then its proberally under the component, id guess in such a case you will need the service manual ir the schemetic. as far as i am aware you need to get it from the manufacture or some sites have pirated copies of it.. you can google it if you want or simply contact your manufacture..

Hi there,
Save hours of searching online or wasting money on unnecessary repairs by talking to a 6YA Expert who can help you resolve this issue over the phone in a minute or two.

Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.

Here's a link to this great service

Good luck!

Harman Kardon AVR 350, Unit powers off into standby mode after a few seconds. Removed all connections and wires, problem persists. Weirdly enough, if I keep pressing the source button, the unit stays on....

It needs to be serviced. Bad caps, resistors, & possibly a transistor or two. Not an unbearable repair, but you can count on it being 100-175 depending on the shop. You followed all the troubleshooting you could without opening the unit.

Apple's recommendation worked for me... Unplug the USB cable. Turn the phone off. Then hold the Home button while reconnecting the USB cable.
follow the link below,
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808?viewlocale=en_US

Alternate option is,
just have him keep trying to put it into DFU mode over and over again, sould work with in 1-10 tries. if you get stuck on something like this, i suggest he just keep trying to do the same thing, change things around, unplug things and then plug em back in.

good luck on not being stuck. stay with 1.1.2!

Polaroid TLU01541CU standby light is on, but will not come out of standby. All voltages seem correct coming out of power supply ie 5v 12v 3.3v, any suggestions. as sevice data for LCD TVs seems few and far...

You might try resoldering the power supply board.Go over it with a magnifier and look closely to find the bad spot. Or resolder the whole board. This fixes a few of these type LCD's. Also look for the tops of capacitors that have bulged.

Sonny tv problem

The problem with this model is the large parts due to poor wave soldering. Locate the transistor Q605. Using a small wattage soldering iron melt the solder and add a little solder to all the large parts in the area. Small wattage = 15 to 30 watt. Stay away from the surface mounts they are not the problem. I resoldered the following: D647
Q605 C690 D645 D620 R691 Q691
These parts are located on the main board, the one the power cord connects to. Carefully press the clip on the left side of the board (as you look at it from the rear of the tv) carefully pull the main board back and out of the rails. You will find the parts on the right side of the main board about 2 inches over 2 inches down.

COULD BE FANS NOT WORKING. TAKE BACK OFF AND SEE IF TURNING, CLEAN THEM, OR TURN STAND BY MODE OFF OR GO TO SONY.COM, TROUBLESHOOTING OR The STANDBY light is flashing on the television and there is no picture or sound. Solution
sp.gif sp.gif The STANDBY light will flash if an issue is detected within the television. This can sometimes be resolved by simply following the steps below to reset the television.
  1. Turn off the television. IMPORTANT: For a projection television that uses an internal lamp, wait 5 minutes after turning off the television to allow the lamp to cool before continuing with the following steps.
  2. Unplug the television power cord from the electrical outlet.
  3. Let the television remain without power for 60 seconds.
  4. Plug the power cord back into the electrical outlet. NOTE: If the television is plugged into a power strip or surge protector, remove it from the power strip or surge protector and plug it directly into the wall outlet. If the issue is resolved, the problem is with the power strip or surge protector and not the television.
  5. Turn on the television.
If the issue is still unresolved after following all of the troubleshooting steps, service may be required. Please note the number of times the STANDBY light flashes and relay that information to the service center.

This is correct the TV does not have a G board and the statement that resoldering the parts is misleading. I fixed my daughters by resoldering the following: D647 Q605 C690 D645 D620 R691 Q691 I tested all the parts in the circuit they tested good. I am an Electrical/Electronic Engineer this fix will do you well. Locate the Q605 located on the main boar and all the above parts listed. Or just carefully heat each of the pads in the area and add a small amount of solder. Make sure they are shinny dull is a problem joint. Don't put too much heat on the pad it will lift. Use a 15 to 30 watt grounded soldering iron. (has a ground on the ac plug) Fix it and enjoy saving yourself a large fee. PS do not mess with the small surface mount parts, you will be asking for more problems. If this don't work relist and I will give you voltages to check....
