Problem for GE Cordless Phone

My GE DECT 6.0 BLINKS NEW MESSAGE WHEN THERE ISN"T ONE

My GE DECT 6.0 keeps blinking new message, but there is no messages at all. We have tried unplugging them, taking out the batteries, checking the messages multiple time with every phone and the base unit, and exiting the answerer by pressing the *. Nothing is working. Please Help!!!!
