Hoover AM1100 Washing machine, wont fin...
Hi, I have a Hoover AM1100 Washing machine that wont do the final spin. The drum moves round during the wash cycle at normal speed but when it comes to spin it makes a strange noise and only spins for a few seconds and not at full speed before it stops. We have changed the brushes and checked all the pipes for blockages. At first it would spin better if we left it for a while after the wash had finished and then put it on spin only but now it doesn't even do that. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

The noise, is it a grinding noisy like worn bearings?
put the washer on drain only - is the pump working ok, take the filter out to see if it is turning ok, does that make a strange noise?
If the pump is fine, its back to that noise, it could be be a faulty tacho on the motor ( regulates the spin speed) or motor bearings - has the motor spindle a lot of play on it?

The whirlpool washer makes "errr..." noise and does't spin. Water doesn't drain out. After several attempt to spin with errr noise, switch cliq sound was heard then it went dead silent. After few hours later, I try to start washing again then errr noise heard then it went dead silent. The agitator rotate when I try to rotate by hand. Thus, it is not stcuked. Would my problem will be the lid switch? Thanks JP

W/M does not finish the final spin. The unit turns it self on and off at different times with all the lights flashing at different times. Thinking it may be the programmer can any body help. Unit type Hotpoint aquarius WF541
Machine fills, washes, drains but won't do spin part of programme. No error message.
