The water in our kitchen faucet sometimes smells

The water in our kitchen faucet sometimes smells like a rubber hose. If I run the water for a few seconds, the smell goes away. The smell is also under the kitchen sink all of the time. Probably because it is shut in by the cabinet doors. What would cause this smell?

Try to follow the water supply pipe all the way to the meter. It might have a rubber hose connected to it. Could have been some ones leak repair.
