Mounting a teleconverter on a minolta camera

I have a Minolta maxxum 300si and it came with a tamron mc teleconverter 2x for minolta md. Do I need any other hardware or adapters to mount this as it doesn't look like it will fit. Any assistance will be appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Re: mounting a teleconverter on a minolta camera

AS you have found out, the Maxxum AF mount and the MD mounts are much different. They do make tele-converters that allow the use of MD (non-AF) lenses on a Maxxum series camera. You would still need another adapter to make the MD Tamron converter work,

Tamron makes lenses with a variety of lens mounts. If the lens has a Minolta mount then yes, you may use it with your camera.

I have a sony alpha 100 i want to buy a 1993 minolta maxxum 3xi with 35-70 and 70-300mm lenses. Those minonolta lenses are compatible with my alpha?

I took the following off of the Alpha website
"Sony Alpha lens mount
Identical to the Minolta A-type bayonet mount, enabling the use of a large back catalogue of existing Minolta and third party lenses"

I know that the lenses that fit my son's Maxxum will not fit my non-Maxxum Minolta bodies. VERIFY THAT THE LENS YOU WANT TO MATE TO YOUR SONY HAS THE MINOLTA A-TYPE MOUNT.

Tamaron lense 28-200mm will this work on a sony 300 digital slr camera

Sony adopted the Minolta Maxxum style mount for their camera bodies. Thus a 28-200 for EOS will not work on the Sony.

Tele converter option for Tamron 28-75mm f2.8

This is a lens for Sony/Minolta cameras. It is not compatible with the Nikon D90. Hence a Teleconverter for Nikon will not work on this lens to mount it to a Nikon D90.

I have a Quantaray 70-300 f1:4-5.6 LDOMacro. I have been using it with Minolta QTsi Maxxum SLR. I am looking into getting a Digital SLR that I can use my lens with. Is there one out there.

here is a link to an ebay search for minolta to canon eos adapter, they sell for just about every camera. i know it sucks, buying a new camera that wont work with your favorite lens, but i think you might be better served focusing (couldnt help myself) on camera features and pricing. i own a canon dslr and love it. sigma has a cool dslr. it has a three layer image sensor, with a removable on sensor ir filter. the ir filter thing is really cool.

Minolta 7000 Maxxum

The Minolta Maxxum 7000 uses a Minolta A mount, which is also used on the Sony Alpha series, as they bought out Minolta's technology. All Maxxum lenses should work for the most part on the Sony Alpha series of DSLR's, including the autofocus.

Attaching it to a Canon EOS 400D REBEL XTI

Totally different lens mounts, you might be able to get an adapter ring, but it wont function amazingly. Honestly, you're better off just selling this lens and buying a Canon 70-300 instead.

QUANTARAY FOR MINOLTA AF 70-300MM compatibility

Usually mounts are unique to a camera manufacturer. There are exceptions. Sony has the Alpha; lenses for the Konica-Minolta are the same mount. Your AF (autofocus) lens will work on it. You might also consider picking up a Konica Minolta 5D or 7D.....they're no longer made and hence are cheaply had.

The MD and Rokkor lenses won't work on the Sony Alpha.
