Re: Random shut-off

The number one thing I have found with intermitent shutdown is the lamp door switch in the up position.
This series of models came back from the factory with the switch in the up position and it needs to be in the down position.
Take a flash light and look through the slots on the lower left side of the lamp door in the back of the set. If you can see the top of switch, then, thats whats causing your problem.
Take off the door, there is a tab that holds the switch down. Reseat the door and check the switch again with a flashlight. If it is down, then the problem is solved. If it is up, try again.
If you have anymore problems or questions, reply to this post and I will respond.

Re: Random shut-off

Thanks for taking my post. The switch you describe, and its the only switch that I can see, is in the middle. When I try to push the switch up or down, it just resets to the middle. Any suggestions? Thanks.

If so, make note of the pattern and call LG Tech support. Or you have power board problem. Find a honest TV Tech.

Mitsubishi TV, WD 60735; TV shuts off shortly after powering up.

It could be but a couple of other possible reasons---they had problems with this set and its brothers with caps in the main power supply puffing up and causing this "hard to turn on" issue.

A second reason is dust/dirt inside the unit.

All air is coming in via the front of the set and exits the rear--enough dust gets inside and the fans slow down or the lamp gets too hot and set shuts down---don't try this in the house: we take them with back cover off outside the building (on a ramp) and with air clean them out completely--try not to blow it inside the screen. It looks like a dust storm in most cases but can cause exactly the problem you have.

HL-R4266W shuts down and a faint clicking sound can be heard

I believe I read somewhere that when you open the back cover over the lamp, there is a special little black switch that needs to be in the up position when you put the cover back on, or the TV can shut itself off randomly.

My t.v. shuts off after a few minutes

try this tells you what the LEDs indicate. Apparently the cover on the back is not sealed properly, my guess is that it is a fan not working properly or some other reason the set is overheating.

It could be a connector. when the set shuts down. it locks out for a period of time.. DO you have to uplug it to reset it? IS there any sounds. Without know more i would guess its high voltage.

MY TV turns off automatically after I turn it on

This sounds like you have a high voltage problem. When your unit turns on the high voltage builds up to the operating voltage. Apparently something is overloading the circuit which causes the set to shut down for safety reasons. This locks out the controls and you can't restart it until the power is removed which resets the micro. The unit is going to need professional help if you are not an electronics technician, and I'm guessing you aren't. This should not be a hard fix and the cost should be reasonable. Find a good repair shop and get an estimate or get it repaired. Good luck.
