I wish I had a £1 for every time I answered this! This is field collapse where the probable cause is the Field Output IC itself, or dry solder joints on the board where the IC is soldered in.

If you are not familiar with electronics then I urge you contact a service centre in your area.

THe problem is either poor solder connections at the vertical IC (LA7833) or a defective IC. This IC should be attached to a heatsink and will be small and flat with about 9-11 Pins. The marking LA7833 will be on it as well. If you can solder, resolder the pins first. If that fails to resolve the problem, replace the IC (rough cost $15-$20). Please note that it is possible to have defective capacitors in the circuit as well. Once the IC has been replaced, try the set and describe the picture if it is not corrEct and we can guide you to the remaining defective parts (if there are any).
