It is recommended that you uninstall all prior versions of Flash Player. You may find it necessary to uninstall both versions then re-install the latest version again.

When I try to download acrobat reader 9 I gbet the message: The4 older version of adobe reader 9 cannot be removed Error 1714

Try to revome the old version by yourself, after that instal the new one.
If that dosent work, try to reinstal an old version first, then uninstal the same and instal the new one.
Seen this problem before, and one of the solutions obove should work for you.

Good luck

I've tried downloaded updated versions of adobe reader; have done so, but there are older versions which now interfere. I'm unable to open any version at this time. Can you help?

The only recommendation i could make for you is just uninstall the previous versions then re-install the one version you would like to use...That's the only solution I know so far...
