Problem recording of hd tv with cable box from

Here are a few items to check and how you need to set your recording.

1. Your HD box should have a coax out (or to TV) connection on the back of the box.
2. Connect a coax cable from the back of the HD box to the "RF IN (FROM ANT.)" in the back of the VCR.
3. When you set your VCR to record you need to set it to copy channel 3 and tune the HD box to the channel you want to record.
This should fix your problem...

Good Luck...

I want to set up my video recorder to my tv and have forgotten how to do it. I have connected the two by aeriel but cannot see what else to do.

Youe aerial should be in the rear of the VCR & the other cable (flylead) should come from the output connection of the VCR & into the TV. To easily find the VCR channel insert a film tape into the video & press play, now selecting the VCR channel on the TV (EG. channel number 0) now you will need to go into the manual tuning on the TV & search until it finds the playback film, once this happens, store this setting. An easier alternative would be to buy a scart connector & connect this from the VCR to the TV & then the video channel will show on the AV setting on the TV, this saves you any tuning problem.

Setup VCR to TV, using RF plugs & coaxial cable

The solution was both simple and elementary - why didn't I remember it sooner?
The TV needed to be 'tuned' to the video just as it needed to be tuned for each TV channel.
I selected channel 12 on the TV, went into the tuning mode on the TV and with the video playing, cycled through the TV tuning process until, Voila, there was the video showing on the TV.

I Am Having Trouble Tuning My Channels On My VCR.

Hey is the VCR set for cable? even if it's not a local channel
could try to come in. turn the blue screen off on the VCR that
might solve your problem. If the channel is weak the blue screen will come on and block it. you can turn it off by going into
your VCR settings. Also If the cable is weak a splitter will
cause this you might have to hook the cable up directly to the
VCR to record it and watch it through the VCR. that's was may
problem once.
also you can tune channel 12 to your VCR manually if it is too
weak because of a nearby local channel it won't tune in automatically.

Tuning in Akai Video

Please explain what you mean by "tuning in."  Are you referring to hooking up to your Television, or to a cable/satellite box?  Or can you not see video when you play a VCR.

Check your hookup cabling.  With a cable or satellite system, the VCR normally is hooked between the cable/sat receiver box and the TV.  Cable box RF output to VCR RF input, VCR RF output to TV RF input.

There are other possibilities when your TV has video or line inputs.

Can tune mitsubishi HS-651V video player/recorder to watch TV.

Hi Jaco, Have you fed in your Antenna / cable into the Rear of the VCR? And if your VCR has a Input selection switch, just check input to Tuner. You will get Blue screen if input selction is not Tuner but Camera / External source. If this does not solve your problem, then there is no Input selection happening.
