The subwoofer preout is not working

I just got the RX-V2700 and hooked it up. I can't find a way to make the subwoofer preout work. Through GUI I set everthing up but still none of the preouts are working. I'm lost. Please Help!

The subwoofer has 2 input RCA Jacks and 2 output RCA jacks and 4 speaker wire connections for inputs and outputs its a Velodyne Sub.

  • Yodelenfritz Jan 08, 2008

Ok. Thanks. But why can't I use the Subwoofer preouts?

  • Yodelenfritz Jan 08, 2008

I have a single Pre-out for the subwoofer but 2 inputs for left and right on the Sub. I didn't try to split it. I will have to go to best buy or one of these places to see if they have the monster cable you are talking about. I will stop tomorrow.

    Thanks for your help.

Your wireless sub should have some sort of transmit module. Hook that up to the subwoofer preout jack on the bad of the receiver.

I just bought a yamaha rx z1. i try to pluging to use the subwoofer is not working

If you have it hooked up to a TV via monitor out, it's easier to do. Press "menu" or "GUI menu" go to "manual setup" then "speaker settings" then "subwoofer" and select "both" If you need more help, post a comment and I can help you further.

Yamaha RX-V2700 no sound from any speaker outputs

Make sure that you have the correct input signal selected.
Also, check if the sound is not muted.
If you have a multi-room speaker switch, make sure it is set correctly to main speakers.

Hooking up a Logitech Z-2300 subwoofer to a Yamaha RX-V392 receiv

This is the exact same setup im lookng at, just a different Yamaha receiver (RX-V663). Since the 3.5mm headphone jack and and the sub preout are both 'line level' you just need to pick up a male RCA to female 3.5mm jack converter from radioshack. I'd expect it to be around $5-8.

I have already stripped my old 5.1 HTIB system rca connector to use the surround speakers with my receiver. They work but are cheap speakers. Im tempted to do something similar with the z-2300 speakers, much higher quality, but I would definitely use a converter instead of stripping to keep them backwards compatible.

Pioneer DEH-P3000IB... Hook up RCA cables to 2, 2 channel amps for front and rear control. Supposed to be able to set rear to either rear full or sub... can't find how and all I'm getting is sub response.

Here are the directions according to the manual:

1 Use MULTI-CONTROL to select
SW CONTROL.
2 Press MULTI-CONTROL to display the
setting mode.
# Press BACK to return to the previous display.
3 Press MULTI-CONTROL to select the segment
you wish to set.
Press MULTI-CONTROL repeatedly to switch
the segment in the following order:
REAR SP (rear speaker setting)—PREOUT
(RCA output setting)
4 Use MULTI-CONTROL to select the desired
setting.
Turn to change the setting.
When REAR SP (rear speaker setting) is selected.
REAR SP:SUB W(subwoofer)—REAR SP:FULL
(full-range speaker)
When PREOUT (RCA output setting) is selected.
PREOUT:SUB W (subwoofer)—PREOUT:REAR
(full-range speaker)
# When no subwoofer is connected to the rear
output, select REAR SP:FULL.

Hope this helps.

Sounds like a poor grounding issue between the units OR maybe they're not as compatible as the Mfg's say.

Could be a bad HDMI cable also. Most are made in the land of Nanking
