I bought the hp slimline s3707c a few months ago and I love it! But due to me being a huge gamer I needed to upgrade my Vid Card. The new card doesn't fit in the tower so I bought a bigger tower and was planning on just moving everything over to the new one but I'm having trouble disconnecting and disassembling everything because of how compact the tower is. Any suggestions on how to transfer the insides to a new tower without destroying them?

My best suggestion is to get a professional installer to do it for you.

If you want to do it yourself.
  1. take the top of (make sure to ground yourself) and DONT work on carpet if possible. Static is bad!
  2. the HP is nice in the way that it has sliding internal features. So some of the chasis will slide out of the way. Take advantage of this.
  3. BEFORE you take ANYTHING APART make sure the mounting screws of the motherboard line up with the mounting area of your newly bought CASE. Also, make sure output on powersupply on new case comparable to your existing one, and that connector wll fit your MotherBoard.
  4. disconnect all power supply wires
  5. take out Power supply which will give you more room
  6. disconnect ribbon cables (or SATA), remove them.
  7. unscrew mounting screws on motherboard and put it in your new case. Make sure MotherBoard does NOT ground to your case (IE it should not wiggle around) and be put in securely
  8. remove peripherals from your old case and put in your new case (HDD, CDROM, etc.)
  9. connect power supply cables, then ribbon cables (or SATA if so)
  10. Put case together and connect wires in back (Monitor, keboard, etc.)
  11. Your are done, Congratulations!
