Hi everyone My electrolux washing machine WEF12832 will not release the door I have tried putting a cord around the outside of the door doesn't work is there another way to do this please Thanks

Make sure the machine is empty first, as if there is water in there, it will be hydraulically locked and will not open. Remove the filter if fitted, or lower the waste hose on to the floor. As a last resort, lower the machine onto its BACK ONLY - never the side or you will ruin the electronics!!! If it looks like water is getting onto any circuit boards, stop immediately, this is a last resort trick only. When empty, the string around the door catch WILL work but its a bit fiddly. Failing that, turn off power, remove lid, and you can get to the back of the catch with a small screwdriver to release the lever - but will probably break the catch which are flimsy plastic. Some models have an emergency door release - look for a circular button directly below the door catch which you need to turn with a broad screwdriver. Not all have this though - AEG's do - part of electrolux group. Check the filter first, if fitted!!!

No lights. dead. checked plug

Unplug the brewer. Turn it upside down. You may need to use a small screwdriver to remove small rubber pads that cover screws that hold the bottom cover to the brewer body. Remove those screws. Using a volt-ohm meter, check to see if you have power coming from the power cord to the brewer at the points on the circuit board. IF NOT, REPLACE THE POWER CORD ( cheap fix). If the power cord is working, when you take off the bottom cover and you will find a small circuit board that has very small switches that actuate the brewer. Take that circuit board off, and with a toothbrush and water/soap solution, gently clean the circuit board and then let it dry completely. CHECK the board to see if their are any burnt areas, or any deposits that are corroding connections, and check to see if all connections are unbroken. Fix anything with a small soldering iron that has separated. Let the circuit board dry in the sunlight, and then replace it and the wires connected to it. Try then to plug the cord in and turn the brewer on to see if the lights work then. IF NOT, you will have to replace the circuit board.

No picture but does still have sound

Most often, this symptom is a result of a failing POWER SUPPLY, but a bad / overheating LCD CONTROLLER BOARD, or a faulty INVERTER BOARD can certainly cause very similar symptoms. Unfortunately, without a donor TV or a dedicated test rig, it can be very difficult to differentiate between these problems.

One way to test this is to remove the rear access panel on the TV and replace the power supply circuit board with a new one, since this is the most often the source of the trouble.

You can usually find a replacement power supply circuit board on Ebay by searching for your TV's model number. If you comment back here to this page with the TV's exact make and model number then I can help you find suitable replacement boards as well.

The repair / replacement procedure is not extremely difficult if you have some basic electrical safety knowledge and some basic electronics / mechanical repair skills.

You will need to unplug the power cord from the unit, lay the TV screen side down on something soft and flat like a bed, and then remove the rear access panel or the entire rear cover as required in order to access the circuit boards inside.

When you remove the rear cover and access the circuit boards inside, just check the part number that is printed right on your power supply circuit board itself and confirm that it exactly matches the one provided in the Ebay listing.

Then unclip and remove the various electrical wire connectors leading to the power supply circuit board. Then remove the screws securing the circuit board to the TV frame and then remove the power supply circuit board. Be sure to avoid touching any large capacitors on the circuit board which can retain a nasty charge even after the unit is unplugged.

Then just screw in the new circuit board and connect all the wire bundles to their appropriate connectors on the new circuit board and then replace the rear cover. Then plug in the power cord and test.

If you want to replace the LCD Controller board (otherwise known as a TCON board), or the INVERTER BOARD, the process is not much different except for the connectors which are usually the flat ribbon type.

Whirlpool Dryer has stopped working. Power cord is

  1. If the tumbler won't spin when it operates, unplug it and try to move the tumbler by hand. If it won't budge, then something is jammed. If it turns with no resistance at all, you may have a problem with your drive belt. If it turns with consistent, minor resistance then the problem may be electrical. Follow the instructions of your user's manual to remove the tumbler so the belt drive and motor are visible. Inspect the drive belt. If it hangs loose, it needs to be tightened. If it is frayed or has worked its way up the drive shaft, it should be replaced. Try to turn the driveshaft leading from the motor by hand. If it won't budge, then your motor is seized and needs to be replaced. If nothing is wrong with the belt or the motor, then the problem is in the control circuit. It may be damaged, preventing the motor from engaging.
  2. If the dryer stops working mid-cycle and will not respond to any of the control functions, unplug it, empty it of clothing and pull it away from the wall. Remove the service panel on the back and open it. Be mindful of smoke and the smell of burnt plastic; these are good indications that something carrying electricity has just died. This particular model of dryer is notorious for its electrical plug and power block, which should be the black box near the bottom in the back. If there are any signs of charring, melting, or discoloration, the power cord and block are your culprits. These can be replaced with a new power cord and terminal-connection wire kit obtained at any hardware store. If there is no indication of electrical damage, the problem is likely the control circuit set underneath the control board on the face of the dryer. Such boards can't be fixed, only replaced--a task best left to a certified repairman.
  3. Ultimate Car II Dryers are fitted with a mechanical timer that sends an impulse to the control circuit board to stop running once the set amount of drying time has elapsed. This is because, should an electronic timer fail, this would necessitate the replacement of the entire circuit board. Confirm that the mechanical timer is indeed broken by opening the dryer's door. If the dryer stops, the circuit board is working fine and is not the problem. Simply slide off the protective faceplate of the dryer, unscrew the control board beneath, and flip it over. Connected to the back of the timer's knob should be a small round device with two wires running to the circuit board within the body of the dryer. Unscrew this device from the back of the knob and disconnect the wires. A replacement timer costs a few dollars and should screw into place without trouble. Reconnect the wires and put the dryer back together. It should work fine now.
  4. please comment on these solution staying on how it help.

The buttons on my Whirlpool dishwasher have gone haywire and have a mind of their own. I can't push a button to start the dishwasher

Hi!!
Try disconnecting the power cord for 5 min. to see if the unit will reset itself. If that does not work, disconnect the power cord and remove the inside panel behind the control board to check the circuit board for burnt marks or smell. If found defective, click on the following link to ID and order the correct part. http://www.repairclinic.com/Circuit-Board-Or-Timer-Parts?s=t-GU3600XTS-%3d%3dec13
Good Luck!! A HELPFUL - 4 THUMBS - rating for this solution would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for using FixYa.

Dryer not working, PF fault.

The fault code PF means a power failure occurred or the power to the dryer was interrupted by any means while it is running. The interruption can be due to a power outage/failure or a power cord loose connection to the electronic control board. Pressing the Pause/Cancel button clears out the display; otherwise, unplug the dryer then let it sit for at least 15 minutes.

Remove the three hex-head screws from the rear flange of the dryer top cover to access the machine control electronics and check the power cord connection if the issue is not resolved above or if the fault code keeps on popping up. The top cover screws have nylon flat washers on them. Be sure to use these screws when you reinstall the top cover. Lift the rear of the top cover and slide it back so the tabs clear the catches on the bracket, and remove the cover from the unit. Make sure that the tabs slide under the bracket catches when you reinstall the top cover.

Remove the three screws from the machine control electronics board bracket and pull the bracket away from the side of the dryer in order to access the connectors. Visually check P1 harness, the five-wire harness on the upper left corner of the machine control electronics where the power cord connects and make sure the connector is fully inserted into the electronic controls and the terminal connections are clean. Reseating the connection several times will help clean off dirt and corrosion build up in the connection

The
machine control electronics definitely needs replacing if the issue is not addressed by the outlined procedures above.

My kenmore stove wont turn off no matter what, we have tried unplugging it and everything but it just wont.

Hello-  The circuit on the control board that switches power to the elements has fused. This tends to happen during the self-clean cycle. The board needs to be replaced to fix this problem. Have seen some of these catch fire, so don't plug it back in until new part is in. Make sure to inspect power cord connections at back of unit.  Replacing control is fairly easy, but repairing any damaged wires should be left to a pro...  Let me know if this info helps- have more if needed- Thanks- Ed

Snes controller

It is common for buttons on any video game controller to quit working and it is usually an easy fix.

Assuming the cord is in good condition the problem is internal. Turn the controller over with the buttons down and remove all of the screws on the back. Carefully lift off the back. You are now looking at the back of the circuit board. Look closely at how the cord is routed through the plastic pins as you will have to put it back in the same location. Remove the cord from the pins and carefully lift out the circuit board. Turn the circuit board over and locate the contacts for the buttons. There are four on the left side for the D-Pad, two in the middle for the Select/Start, and four on the right for the A,B,X, & Y. These contacts need to be cleaned. A hard eraser works best. Reassemble everything and it should work fine for quite some time.
