Paper light on continuously after cardboard was

There is a sensor that is pressed by the presence of the paper to tell you that there is paper in the printer. With the cardboard going through it, the sensor may have got press excessively and has got damaged. What to do now?? Try to locate the paper sensor near the rollers that pull the paper through. Remove it and replace with exactly the same specifications.
