I installed Audio driver soundmax for my laptop IBM R52 but it is not working also not any voice

Is there red cross on windows sound button? If yes, most likely driver is wrong. You can revert back to old driver by opening device manager -> sound controller -> double click on audio device -> select driver and rollback driver.

If windows sound button is active, open it and make sure that volume is turned on and some speakers are connected. Also check "sound" under control panel to see that devices are enabled

No sound on my dell 8400

Simply go to 'Start -> Control Panel -> Administrative tools -> Computer management -> Device manager'. Now find here 'Sound, video and game controllers', right-click on your sound device and select 'Properties'.

Now click 'Driver' tab and check that what driver is currently installed and it is working properly or not...

Update the audio driver now still the device says it is working properly because sometime the driver might be causing this problem.

Don't forget to restart you laptop after successfully installed new driver.

I have a acer 1360 and i have encountered a problem with sound, which i never had before, there is no sound from the computer or ear phones, or speakers, can you guide me to fix the problem, thanks

The pivotal action in trying to isolate and diagnose the specific cause of any computer fault is to think back to when the computer was working normally and then list any hardware, software or settings changes between that time and when the fault you are experiencing first appeared.

Audio problems are often simple settings problems. Before you try anything else think if you have connected any new device or installed or used any new software on the computer that is Audio-related (such as a cellphone, an MP3/MP4/MP5 player, a bluetooth device, a microphone, a Voice Over Internet Protocol [VOIP] Headset or multiplexing device, a dial-up modem or dial-up modem based transaction or stock keeping or postal franking device, a multimedia player, a speech recognition program, media playing software, fax/phone software, etc., etc. Any of these sorts of devices or software are capable of changing a computer's default audio settings.

Reset the audio to the correct default device - start -> control panel -> sounds speech and audio devices/hardware and sounds -> audio -> select main audio on-board chip or sound card from the Playback Device drop down menu or the panel of different device options -> apply -> OK -> restart computer.

Often this is all that needs to be done to restore audio that has been disabled by settings changes.

If not then turn your mind to a possible Audio/sound Driver conflict, corruption or deletion.
Uninstall all components of the installed Audio/Sound Driver from Add or Remove Programs/ Uninstall a Program or its equivalent in your Operating System - > restart the computer -> reinstall the Audio/Sound Driver from the Drivers and Utilities Installation Disc or download, save (so as to create and keep on the computer the Sound/Audio Driver Setup Files in case of future Sound/Audio Driver problems) and install it from the Support and Download pages of the Acer website -> restart the computer.

No sound at all

1) Go to: Start > Settings > Control Panel > Sounds, Speech, and Audio Devices > Audio tab 2) Check what's under "Sound playback: Default device" and "Sound recording: Default device". It these fields are grey and non-clickable, then most probably the audio card driver is missing or less probably the audio card itself is broken. 3A) If you have an original CD of your computer, motherboard, or audio card, insert the CD and install the driver from it. 3B) Or alternatively insert the CD and go to: Start > Settings > Control Panel > Performance and Maintenance > System > Hardware > Device Manager, find any unidentified device in the list, or expand the "Sound, video and game controllers" branch, identify the Audio card > Right click > Update driver... > Install the software automatically > Next 3C) Or alternatively download and install a free driver updater software, e.g. http://www.innovative-sol.com/drivermax/index.htm - let it scan and update all your missing drivers. P.S. These steps mentioned above are for Windows XP, but will be quite similar on other Windows versions, too.
If you tell me your laptop's model name, I could find its website where you can download audio drivers. For example if you have HP laptop, go to www.hp.com and enter your laptop's model number and look for driver downloads offered.

There is a speaker sign on the start bar menu but there is a red cross next to it and i went on control panel and went on sound and it said no audio device installed

It is surprising that Toshiba Notebook does not have a sound device?????? Anyway, please go to control panel and open device manager page. Scroll through and see if there is yellow warning sign on it. If so click on it and see what it says. If it says that no device is installed then you have to go to web site of Toshiba. Under the support section click on drivers and then download the same.

My pc can't find my speaker

You probably haven't loaded the sound driver yet.
To find out goto control panel, then system, then devices
You might see a ? next to one or more devices
If so, the next step will depend on if you have the driver on cd, or you will have to download it.
