Apple mac to ML-4500 printer - USB - Parallel cable (driver disc that came with lead is too small to enter and eject Apple drive)! Also printer is a Samsung ML-4500 and no matter what site I find which claims success, the instructions are waaay over my head. Is there a simple download and print version of a driver that connects MAC OSX 10.5.8 to thsi printer successfully? And do I need a driver for the lead?
First, congratulate yourself for not getting the undersized CD stuck in your slot-loading drive, which requires a repair call to extract. :-)
The answer to your question is no, there is no "simple" way to do what you want.
If you absolutely must have this printer running on your Mac, you must follow the instructions here:

I assume these are the instructions that are "way over your head." They certainly are not simple. Nonetheless, there is no simpler way to achieve this task.

(1) Cannot connect by USB to or from Macintosh MacBook OS10.6.2. Not visible in Disk Utility nor Unix /Volumes. (2) USB stick works if not partitioned to GUID first, i.e., a new FAT-32 stick works but GUID partition with FAT-32 format does not and cannot undo that partition scheme. (3) Need it to ignore ._ files so half the ''images'' are not invalid. -Ken

i have installed a mbox1 on a powerbook g4 - OS x 14.1 - with Pro Tools 7.4 I can hear the audio tracks on the mbox but not the midi tracks. If I try to select the output in the mix window I have only the Sint SW Microsoft option. What is strange, to me, is that I can hear the midi track out of the PC speakers. How can I fix the problem?
