kenpogue, Yes, I'll just bet it's a "switch-mode-power-supply" that has failed because of some bad or poor quality electrolytic filter capacitors or poor quality of wave soldering of components on said printed circuit boards. Ask the service tech when you call him up, how many $100 bills you should have in your hand when he shows up!!! Prior to making the CALL, do yourself a favor and view some LCD repair vids at YOUTUBE first. The longer ones will be more imformative. You might even find one very similar to your own being repaired. Some of them are pretty good and you will learn a lot. You may even want to tear off the rear plastic panel to see what is inside your set as long as it is out of warranty?? Please pay particular attention to where these do-it-yourself-guys perform the task at hand. They and spouse may need to sleep on floor for a day or two!!! lol.... good luck guy.
