I had to uninstall my hp f2180 all-in-one because it wouldn't let me cancel a failed printing job. when i tried to reinstall it, at first using the CD, it didn't finish successfully. I also tried downloading the software from hp but it is saying the source file could not be read. My OS is vista 32-bit. Hope someone can help.

I see that you are having issues with your printer and that yor print Jobs are pilng up.
>On the lower right hand side you should see the printer icon if you click on it it should show you the print queue of your previous print jobs that piled up right click on each and select cancel.
>after canceling the print queue, reset you printer by uninstalling and reinstalling the your printer driver.
>Make sure that you have the Printer driver disc before uninstalling, if you don't have the printer driver disc try downloading it from the website of he manufacturer.
>Once the orinter driver is reinstalled try printing again.
>check if the printer will print properly again without having the Jobs pile up and not print at all.
Can you post the printer brand? HP? Cancel all pending jobs from your print queue. Remove the printer and add it back in from your printer lists. Of course you can try uninstalling and reinstalling the unit.Of course you can try uninstalling and reinstalling the unit.
Hi: Try uninstalling the printer driver first, then reinstalling without printer attached to computer, only reattached printer after you reinstall the drivers.
Please uninstall the driver for the HP printer and reinstall it once again
How to uninstall the driver
1. click start.control panel, add or remove programs(if xp) or Programs is vista
2.Now, remove the HP printer
Now restart the computer
How to reinstall the printer back on the computer.
1. Insert the disk that came with the printer and click install and follow the on screen instructions.
scroll down to print spooler and right click on it and click on restart and then go back into printers and faxes and right click on printer and cancel all documents or delete the print job
If that fails to work you may need to use the utility that came with your printer to cancel it - short of that you can just turn the printer off for about 5 seconds and back on.
Please try to following these steps :-
1- Try to run print spool services from the services.msc
just type :- services.msc in the run command.
then restart the print spooler service.
2- Try to delete unprinted page from the print command.
Had a similar problem with an HP 1400 series printer. Check the HP support site. This link and the diagnostic utility work great for me: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&lang=en&custom_solutionid=rd_c01367104&rule=25494&product=458978&docname=c01072463
